Update saturday april 2nd
The 2 youngsters from the 1st round were banded this week. This helped to put them together with 1 pair of fosters, 1 more pair to spare for the kick off of the 3rd round. Chances were 10% that there would be a redpied, well guess how lucky I was!
Second round gave me 3 pairs of fertile eggs, out of 5. They will stay underneath the Holles, hoping they will do there job. A few pairs of racers are in the same cycle, so possibly they can help to bring up the young holles. The youngsters of those pairs of racers must be brought up as well, so I can see some handfeeding on the horizon.
Tomorrow we will start the third round(3 week cycle). For the Holles there will be only 2 pairs, but all together it is looking hoepful to bring up enough youngsters to improve again this year.
