03-05-2020 Breedingseason update

Breeding season 2020 is working well so far, looking at the results we have until now with the Hollies.
The 4 youngs from the first round fly around the youngbird department.
The youngsters from the 2nd round are developing well.
From the blackpied pair we have a black and bluebarred pied this time, the bluebarred pied looks overmarked.

From the homozygous mealybarred x blackpied there is 1 squab. It turns out to be a mealybarred, hammerd on the wingdeck again, with some white flights and some with feathering on the neck, the first signs of a pied marking.

From the creambarred x mealy barred there are 2 creambarred squabs. I take it these are 2 hens, but one of the squabs seems to be a little heavier build than the other, perhaps a little riddle here?

The youngs of the 3rd round hatched the last couple of days, again placed under feeders, the Hollies produced their 4th round of eggs, 5 fertile eggs on the way. Again the creambarred pairing with empty eggs, I took the male out, he is not compatible with my system of breeding. This will be the last round for this breedins season, it will be time to monitor the youngsters and see if something beautiful comes out of this lot.

Until the next!
